This Photoshop enhanced photo is derived from work I did leading up to the Castlefield Gallery paving stone commission I made in 2001. I wanted to represent my actual studio floor as an obtuse record of my activity as an artist. Through my stone-carving work I had unconsciously created a geological microcosmic landscape of textures and forms through repeated treading on (in my adidas trainers it seems!) the marble chips and dust that I had been too lazy to sweep up.
