I suppose this is a collage really, using just string glued to a canvas, but it also uses the blank white background to imply limitless depth, as do my acrylic paintings from 2010. I was specifically inspired by looking at Hans Arp's work with string as a collage medium and it fitted in well with my attempts at minimalist figurative shorthand.
