St. Francis of Assisi described his body at the end of his life as 'poor brother donkey'.

This sculpture suggested to me some aspects of a body or figure that had been ravaged or abused. Again I used a honey-coloured stone, I seemed to have a lot of this particular stone lying in my studio. Its lovely colour and gritty texture are certainly appealing.
